The Wisconsin Educational Services Program for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (WESP-DHH) Outreach Program supports children who are deaf, hard of hearing, and deafblind by providing a broad array of services to families and educational programs. Services are provided at no cost and are based on the needs of each individual child.
Wisconsin Educational Services Program for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (WESP-DHH) operates under the direction of the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and supports students from across the state of Wisconsin who are deaf, hard of hearing, or deafblind in a variety of ways.
WESP-DHH Outreach provides a variety of programs and services to students, ages birth to 21, who are deaf, hard of hearing, or deafblind, their families, and the educational teams and school districts that serve them, regardless of the student's educational placement or communication modality. Most of these programs are free-of-charge.
Wisconsin School for the Deaf (WSD)
The Wisconsin School for the Deaf is a residential school for deaf and hard of hearing students from throughout the state of Wisconsin. WSD operates under the direction of the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and provides educational services for deaf and hard of hearing students ages 3 to 21. WSD focuses on meeting the needs of students with disabilities in the areas of academic, adaptive education, vocational, and social skills development.
